Children will have fun learning about sleep with two new apps from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Each app is available for free download on your iPad, Kindle Fire or Android tablet.

I See the Animals Sleeping” features richly detailed illustrations that will spark the imagination. Named an “App We Love” by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, it highlights the wide-ranging sleep habits of animals.

Children will take a journey to explore the world’s diverse environments in “The Animals Sleep.” From the frozen tundra to the hot desert, animals are sleeping in every biome. Beautiful watercolor paintings bring each scene to life.

Each app allows children to read at their own pace or listen to the narrated story. The apps also have animal sounds and interactive features that kids will love. Young children will enjoy the touch-screen coloring book, puzzle and quiz games. Older kids will like finding the educational tap-and-play sleep facts.

The apps are ideal for educational enjoyment and interaction during the daytime. For bedtime reading, the AASM recommends using the companion hardcover picture books. The bedtime books  I See the Animals Sleeping and The Animals Sleep are available on Amazon.
