Three students have been chosen as winners of the 2017 American Sleep Medicine Foundation “Sleep Recharges You” High School Video Contest, which focused on motivating teens to prioritize the importance of sleep in their lives.
The 2017 contest was entered by 95 students, who competed from across the country. Video entries were judged by a panel of sleep medicine physicians and researchers.

The first-place winner was David Yates, a junior at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, CO. His video, “The Necessity of Sleep” , won the grand prize of $1,000 to split between himself and his school.

Dugan Studebaker took second-place, with his video, “Go to Sleep”.
This senior will split his $500 winnings with his school, Wheaton Academy
in West Chicago, IL.

The People’s Choice prize of $250 went to to Adhi Gopal, a sophomore
at Clear Lake High School in Houston, TX. His video, “ASMF 2017”, was
selected as People’s Choice winner via public, online voting. His prize
money will also be split with his high school.

Congratulations to the winners!

i liked all of these videos and appreciate the humor used as a teaching tool in all of them. Thanks for the hard work that went into creating them and for holding this contest. I will pass them on to my teenage patients and try to get more sleep each night myself.
