The following Patient Organizations are available to assist you with your current or newly diagnosed sleep disorder. The following partners provide additional resources specifically for your sleep disorder.
The Alliance of Sleep Apnea Partners educates patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and the public about sleep apnea causes, symptoms, therapies and risks. Providing resources useful to recognize Sleep Apnea signs and symptoms in order to obtain diagnosis and treatment.
The American Sleep Apnea Association works to improve the lives of those affected by sleep apnea and leads the search for the elimination of this syndrome in future generations.
Circadian Sleep Disorders Network is dedicated to improving the lives of people with chronic circadian rhythm disorders by increasing awareness within the medical community and among the general public. Providing emotional support and practical ideas for people living with these disorders.
The Hypersomnia Foundation engages, informs and champions our global community to improve the lives of people with idiopathic hypersomnia and related sleep disorders.
Narcolepsy Network educates and informs individuals with narcolepsy about this life-long neurological sleep disorder, available treatments, and symptom management so they may be empowered to achieve the highest quality of life possible.
Project Sleep aims to improve public health by educating individuals about the importance of sleep health, sleep equity, and sleep disorders.
The Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation dedicated to improving the lives of men, women, and children who live with this often-devastating disease. The organization’s goals are to increase awareness, improve treatments, and through research, to find a cure.
Project Sleep’s Sleep Helpline is a national helpline providing free and personalized support and resources for people facing sleep issues and sleep disorders.
Wake up Narcolepsy is dedicated to driving narcolepsy awareness, education and research towards improved treatments and a cure.
Patient Advocacy News
The above-mentioned patient organizations are members of the AASM Patient Advocacy Roundtable (“Roundtable”). The Roundtable is a partnership between the AASM and patient organizations supporting and advocating for patients with sleep disorders to advance shared goals and improve awareness, advocacy, education, and patient care. In a collaborative effort, the Patient Advocacy Roundtable (PAR) seeks to address shared goals, support the activities of all participating patient organizations and further the reach of each organization’s individual mission. The PAR will address issues affecting patients and implement strategies to continue to support and amplify the patient’s voice.
